I have created worlds and stories with Shakespeare and classical text, modern poetic verse and naturalism, as well as physical and devised theatre. Most recently I directed and produced my first independent theatre show - Learn more about my work below.
I work very physically as a director, and when I work with movement in particular, it is always narrative and character-led.
I work from a place of flow and combine the physical aspect of performance with my storytelling.
Delving into narrative is a passion of mine - even the most abstract work has a story to tell.
Whether it is textual, musical, physical or proximal, I can help breathe life into your story.
Burhan Kathawala, Actor-Musician
WHAT: "Step into the hazy, sexy world of NAVARRE, London's infamous underground jazz club, for the party of the century. Well known as the best in the city, this is where you go for revelry, hedonism and the silkiest-smoothest jazz in town. However, it's all about to change; King Ferdinand and his dapper dons are planning to embark on a three-year quest of the mind. No more parties, no alcohol and - most importantly - no women to distract. Just books, books and more books... But he seems to have forgotten about AQUITAINE, the neighboring jazz club, and their upcoming visit led by the fierce, unforgiving Princess and her band of provocateurs.....
Adapting the text from Shakespeare's 'Love's Labour's Lost' and adding our own dynamic twist (along with some music that will blow your socks off), this is a journey through the ups and downs and all-arounds of falling in love.
This is Shakespeare as you've never seen it before! Fun, frivolous and relevant, this show pulls the text into a timeless era full of energy and music. You can expect eclectic styles, arguments, mistaken identities, a fair bit of swearing, and - of course - a whole lot of love!"
